aci environmental services, llc serves as Independent Environmental Compliance Manager (IECM) and Hazardous Materials Specialist (HMS) subcontracting to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA).
Project consists of construction of two variable-priced express lanes in each direction, an additional (fourth) general purpose lane (southbound from approximately Lake Creek Parkway to the entrance ramp from SH 45; southbound from north of McNeil Drive/Spicewood Springs Road to MoPac; and northbound between Braker Lane and McNeil Drive/Spicewood Springs Road) and direct connectors to and from SH 45/RM 620 on the north and MoPac on the south.
The goals of the $612 million project are to improve mobility, reduce congestion and provide more reliable travel times for transit and emergency responders along US 183 between State Highway 45 North and Loop 1 (Mopac).
aci contributed the following on this project:
Environmental compliance oversight for CTRMA’s selected design-build
Coordinates with the project’s ECM re: karst feature discovery/eval
Reviews karst feature closure plans prior to submittal to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)
Conducts hazardous material spill response
Performs daily inspections related to Best Management Practice (BMP) installation/effectiveness
Reviews Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWP3)
Provides documentation for compliance with the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES)
Construction General Permitting (CGP)
The project is located within the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone and as such has a Water Pollution Abatement Plan (WPAP) approved by the TCEQ.
