Geologic Assessment, RM 620, Williamson Country, Texas
aci consulting prepared a Geologic Assessment for proposed improvements to RM 620 near SH 45 North, a regional tollway under construction.  The Geologic Assessment assessed the recharge potential of karst features observed within the search corridor of the existing roadway.  The recommendation of the authoring geologist will be incorporated into the environmental constraints analysis and design in the future. 

SH 45 Southeast, Environmental Site Assessments, Travis County, Texas
As a part of the design/build contruction of a regional tollway, aci consulting prepared all the necessary ASTM 1527 Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Phase I surveys.  These ESAs include all requisite ASTM procedures including background data searches, site surveys, site owner interviews, and title searches.

GIS Constraint Mapping
aci consulting uses the latest remote sensing technology to provide clients with environment constraints.  Several projects which involved sub-meter accurate recording and ArcGIS analysis include:  cave radio surface mapping, Bear Creek geologic survey, and numerous one-foot topographic surveys of recharge features across central Texas.

Rainfall Infiltration/ Recharge Study
aci consulting and its subcontractors are conducting a long-term evaluation of rainfall infiltration on the Edwards Aquifer.  The study focuses on the interaction of the soil layer and limestone subgrade as it relates to aquifer recharge.  The study involves karst surveying for potential recharge features, soil profiling by means of backhoe trenching, rainfall infiltration simulations, soil dye tracing, and long-term soil moisture content monitoring.  The study has been commended by the USDA Soil Conservation Services and upon completion may be used as a model for describing the heterogeneity of soils in the Edwards Aquifer soil function.
